No its just a new 2 year deal basically. Jerry said that at the end of it he will have been the coach for 5 years.

Jerry did not release any details except Wade would make more money for getting to the Super Bowl.

jerry on other coaches, i have not talked with them, i do intend to offer them an extension and wade wanted to do that too, went in depth with wade wanting them to get contract extensions and hve them back and thats what we wanted to do;

for our franchise for the team, i wanted them to know we had them, right where i wanted to go and keeping it in the perspective, and for benefit of cowboys i wanted 2nd year, not just an option, knowing we got him

defensive coordinator for wade as head coach question; uh wade talking, that decision i feel like 33 yeras ive been in it, most of them i have been a coordinator, and i found myself getting away from makign those decisons defensively, and we thought that me being defensive coordinator again, that would help us, i wished i had done that earlier

jerry, i have heard from other coaches, will be a plus when they go from coordinator to head coach, we lost a heck of a positioin coach, at one time or antoher the head coach was a coordinator, but its dicey with success, with critism if you dont have success, and when you have success it brings alot to the table; with the game plan, the technique that is wade in this case, lst year we were siting here, and as head coach i need to be the defensive coordinator on the planet and i need to be the defensive coordinator too and i like to hire myself, and it happened that way, i will say it for him and increased his workload and ground he had to cover, not right to say he had a deminshed presence in relativity to the offense or whatever, ahnd thats the catch here, but wade did it, in a successful way

wade; there are alopt of offensive coaches that calls all the plays, its alittle more unusual in my case and i dont knwo why

i think the players have to respect you and trust you and when that happens that leadership

jerry, in nature of being superstitious and i respect financial security and no matter how you say its, its alot of money involveed, and coming from my background its alot of money involved again, and with wades desire to win a championship, its good we have that then have longer term, there is a bonus wiht coaches makign more money going to the superbowl but i wont get into that option in his contract

wade; was more demanding and more things i had to do more than in the past with whatever time it takes, our offseason is the time we go into the other areas, and offseason is when im in there alot wtih offense and special teams;

wade, some of them, we want to keep, with procedula things, with discipline and fines and all areas we looked at last year and tweaaked some things, so dont think to many changes to make

wade, i get a good response to meeting, to work time, taking over the dfense overall and the way they responded i can show the team i can improve the team in some area; defensively from 5th game on we were a dominant front, and with jenkins, we played stronger, i see a team that shows potential and wont change awhole lot, we changed some things offensively when i came in here, adn we have some younger players coming on

with our draft class being injured, we wil have a draft and a half this year due to some being injured last year, and we have a report card of those injured players doing better, and look at potential players wiht the 80 we can get to make us better than one we have now players

like when we had barber, then we drafted felix then choice; can really help u


wade, goes into evaluating players and down to talent and what you do with your talent or bringing in a plyer to beat out a player, improving individuals,etc, we ran the ball better, our qb cut down on turnovers, our defnese improved in scoring, we still have some things to do too and i can name those too


wade; for me best job, im from tx and a tx coach and i feel its number one job

announder said jerry you said lets not bs each other and on roy wllliams production, i look at his talent, ways he stayed late and worked and his contract is a major consideratioin, do you compromise your situation with teh cowboys, and no you dont do that, wade has a skill, number one thing, i was told by coaches that wade knows what a player looks liek and wade can see how the skills of a player and use that player to excel, like bobby carpenter, and thats one of the reasons, im excited about wade, being our head coach, going to the pro bowl and not the senior bowl, but its a real skill with wade to have him here

on roy williams, wade says i have to take his talent, like he came in 2 weeks before anyone else, and i have to find a way to help roy but we did have a good production offense, if a better player on the field, thats always what you do, thats question was aasked wade if a better wr for example needs to play, you put the best player on the field

wade, we analyze coaching staff wise, personnel wise, we have some work to do with those things, and then we go back as coaches and go through every snap of every player and then you evaluate and thats why its good to draft in april not now

jerry; you get a more arms length opinion of player after the season is over, but the guys that know the what to do the most, but with older players experience, but more difficult to evaluate players during the seaon, so before free agency and the draft you must evaluate everyone, and we can get one player over 5 million and go get players under 3 million as many as we want or need


wade, we made alot of progress with felix this year, and finished strong, and at least we can depend on him and these guys mature as they get stronger with their bodies etc, and in offseason, joe jurisiak, does a good job there

jerry; players learn and know how to avoid injury situations, but you have to watch out some players may know how to play the game liek felix coming out he wasnt injury prone, so learing the nature of the game, their is an education process going on with felix

wade, you evaluate players same way what they do on the field and in the game;

jerry; on confidence level, thats wrong word for me, that is the goal and we know how hard that is to do and to get there, i am confident we are going the right direction and players buying into that, your talent level you either go up or down, but i feel good and positive where we are and if we do things wade has outlined here, we will be knocking on the door

If there is a lockout in 2011, then this is basically a one year deal, correct?

Lockouts will affect the players and not the coaches. The desire to extend him that extra year is in the event of that lockout, Jerry wants to keep some kind of continuity (he won't admit it but that's the thinking behind it). I strongly doubt a lockout come 2011, they'll get something done.
