It's now or never for him. I wish him the best of luck, he seems like a good dude - nothing reported about any off field or lockeroom transgressions.

His play was terrible last year except the hit on beckham. Hope he makes a huge jump in his play- if not he won't be around next year.

I'm willing to keep an open mind on him despite the three year rule because he had plantar fascitis and never took time off. That means it never got better. Secondary players that cannot plant and cut without intense pains are going to regress playing in space.

I'm not counting on him for squat. If the light comes on great. I don't think he is as bad as people carry on but otoh he wasn't making plays like the year before either and we need playmakers. Heath is still my favorite S not named Jones. Frazier also intrigues me with him consistently taking good angles playing up where our guys have struggled for the past several years.

Also curious to see what Williams the new db coach brings to the table. I loved the way his S played in SF.

I like Heath a lot more than most on here too. He is way better than he gets credit for, IMO.

I love guys that hit like he does. My parents were concerned about head injuries and wouldn't let me play but I always wanted to play S and hit people like that.

He's got a nose for the football too. Everyone hammered him because he couldn't finish the play against Peterson and Megatron when he got a lot of playing time as the starters as an UDFA but I always thought it was remarkable that he had a nose for the football when competing against the elite. He's clearly gotten stronger.

I did play safety and hit like that. :)

Knocking the crap out of someone is the best feeling in the world.

Yeah, the Megatron game when he was a rookie made fans hate Heath but what did people expect with a rookie UDFA playing against the best WR in football?

I like Wilcox more so then Church. I just feel Wilcox is a SS trying to play FS. Also he was the only starter with an interception. I would allow Church, Wilcox and Frazier battle it out for starter and backup at SS....

You like a guy that's worse at tackling and coverage?

I have less hope for Wilcox than probably any other player on the team. Honestly, I don't really expect him to make it out of camp, barring an injury to somebody else in the position group. I liked him as a pick, but he just flatlined. And I don't even want to have to make a decision on a contract for him if the light suddenly goes on so close to his next contract. That's how you get burned.

We seem to like the young Safeties quite a bit, too. Hopefully we hit on them, at least as ST players if not for finding a replacement for that 4th safety position.

Church is not better in coverage. His range is so poor the area he covers in zone is miniscule and he simply cannot cover anyone in man.

He takes better pursuit angles, but Church missed some key tackles last season too and is unbelievably slow.

Church is easily better in all things safety. Neither are great at coverage but you can bet if Wilcox is close to his man there will be a penalty. Church isn't the best but he's fine as a SS especially with Jones at FS now.

Hyperbole is not compelling.

Ya not sure what people seen that made Wilcox so bad and Church so good. I clearly remember Church missing key tackles behind the line of scrimmage that went for huge gains and sometimes TDs
