Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant (88) is congratulated by guard Zack Martin (70) and center Travis Frederick after scoring a touchdown against Miami Dolphins during the fourth quarter at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015. The Cowboys won 24-14. (Jae S. Lee/The Dallas Morning News)

Babe Laufenberg, longtime Cowboys radio analyst and former NFL quarterback, answered questions following Dallas' 24-14 win over the Dolphins:

What did you think of Tony Romo's return?

I listen to KERA's, "All Things Considered" from time to time, so we will start there. All things considered... the eight-week layoff, the elements with the wind and rain early, the awful starting field position ( eight of the nine drives started at their own 13 or worse) made it a difficult return. Romo said he felt more comfortable as the game progressed, and that is what you were hoping for. And third-down conversions were big. The Cowboys had been converting at a 37 percent rate for this season. Against Miami, that was 50 percent. One of the most important statistics in football, in my opinion.

What did you think of the defense holding the Dolphins to 210 yards?

Going to be totally overlooked because of Romo's return, but when you hold the opposition to 1 of 10 on third downs, and nine total first downs, you are going to win about 99 percent of those games. And most impressive was the fact that Miami had crazy good field position, with drives starting at their own 45-, 42-, 46-, 43-, 42- and 38-yard lines. With that kind of field position, a great performance to hold the Dolphins to 14 points.

What do you think of the Cowboys cutting Christine Michael and Corey White in part for not wearing suits on the road? Was there anything similar when you were playing?

I do not know how much that factored into their release, but always fond of the Don Shula line, "We will tolerate you until we can replace you." Have to know your place in this world. When you are replaceable, have to approach your job such that when the head coach says "Jump," you ask, "How high?" while you are in the air. Bill Parcells..."The circus doesn't stay in town forever."
