Give Scouts, Inc.'s Todd McShay credit for trying to pull off a two-round mock draft. But can you imagine the backlash around these parts if Jerry takes a center with the Cowboys' second-rounder?

McShay projects Cal WR DeSean Jackson and Arkansas RB Felix Jones as the Cowboys' two first-round picks. He has the Cowboys taking Arizona State C Mike Pollak in the second round, which might be a swell idea if the Cowboys didn't have Pro Bowler Andre Gurode locked up in a long-term deal.

My eyebrows shot up when I saw that McShay thinks Oregon RB Jonathan Stewart will slip all the way to the Jets in the early second round. He has Texas RB Jamaal Charles going to Arizona in the middle of the second round. And he doesn't think East Carolina RB Chris Johnson, the fastest dude in the draft, will be off the board when the third round begins.

In short the draft was garbage.

Stewart in the 2nd? I'm going to be very happy if he's there at 22.

Let's see:

Two #1 picks and we get a slot receiver and a part-time running back?

And use a second round pick to back up your PB center! Is BP still running this draft?

Nah.

If he was, that second rounder would be a TE!

Pollak rates as the best center in the draft and one of the better guards.

Me, I'd love a nice C-G combo player -- maybe not in round 2 but if he's there when we pick in round 2 he'll likely be one of the best players left on the board.

We are not going offense with the first three picks like that. No way.

This mock draft went deep. Deep into the mentally ******** mind of Todd McShay.

Someone call me.....nevermind I will go back to sleep.

I'm still throwing a brick at my TV if we pick Felix.

While your at it, throw one in mine as well.

Drafting a center in the second round isn't all that ********, especially if he can play some guard. Gurode has to improve his shotgun snaps as even the ones that connected with Romo were often poor and it throws off the passing play as seen in the playoff game where the slow snaps made it difficult for the other O-Line to time and put the Giants at a major advantage. If Gurode can't improve the snaps and is having a dreadful game at it, Dallas may want to put in a center who can shotgun snap properly and move Gurode to guard. Optimally I want Gurode at center because he's so big and mobile and it's a major advantage when he's on because most teams don't have centers like him. But he's got to improve his shotgun snaps.
