Adam Jones will giveaway 1,500 stuffed backpacks to needy Fort Worth ISD students on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Charity Center at 4400 Panola Ave.


Jones is partnering with Deion Sanders, driversselect and PrimeTimePlayer for the back-to-school giveaway. The backpacks will be filled with supplies, like notebooks, pencils, pens and folders and more depending on the grade level of the student.


No registration is required. Parents or guardians have to bring their children in order to receive the backpacks.

I've already called a few folks up there giving them a heads up. And I know if they can get one for their kids, it'll really help them out.

Well, maybe Adam's starting to realize the whole world isn't always about him. Do remember reading somewhere that Titan players quickly realized Adam wasn't interested in helping them in any way off the field or in charity work. This is the 2nd time he's done something to help others in the Dallas area since he arrived. Of course the first time he met a lot of the players was at Jason Witten's chariety bowling event. Adam isn't dumb; he just made stupid decisions or even worse. Certainly his charity work may be all about getting reinstated. Only time will tell. Sure would like to be a fly on the wall in the lockerroom just to hear what the players really think about him--off and on the field. However, we also need remember that most teams will accept any player who can help them win.
