So I was driving to D-FW airport just before 6 a.m. this morning when I started fiddling with the radio dial. Lo and behold, I found Troy Aikman's Sporting News show, co-hosted by Brad Sham, on The Ticket.

Naturally, the subject of the Cowboys-Eagles came up. Thinking quickly, I asked my 14-year-old daughter in the back seat to write down what Aikman, who will call the game for Fox on Sunday, had to say.

She had no pen and paper so she did what any 14-year-old would do under the circumstance. She typed what she thinks she heard Aikman say into her phone and sent it to me via text message.

She texted that Aikman said "it will be a tall order" for the Cowboys to beat the Eagles in Philadelphia. She says Aikman said, "it will be particularly difficult for (the Cowboys) to win."

Keep in mind Aikman makes it a rule never to predict the outcome of games he is working. But this sounds like a prediction to me. I would call him myself but I'm not making any work-related calls today. It's Christmas you know.

For what it's worth, here's the Cowboys record at the Eagles from 1989 to 2000, Aikman's years with the team. Bold is for December games in Philly. Note the Cowboys lost in Philly in two ('92, '95) of their three Super Bowl championship seasons.

12/10/89 --- Loss 10-20
12/23/90 --- Loss 3-17

12/15/91 --- Win 25-13
10/05/92 --- Loss 7-31
10/31/93 --- Win 23-10
12/04/94 --- Win 31-19
12/10/95 --- Loss 17-20

09/30/96 --- Win 23-19
10/26/97 --- Loss 12-13
11/02/98 --- Win 34-0
10/10/99 --- Loss 10-13
11/05/00 --- Loss 13-16 (OT)

I know it's Christmas but I hate Aikman. He tries way way to hard not to be a homer. Now, he is an Eagles fan.

Because he's saying what alot of peoplea re saying, he's trying too hard not to be a homer? He doesnt play that card really when he's not in the booth. He keeps it pretty honest. Just some of you can deal with his, or any Cowboy legend's honesty if they dont say what you want to hear.

He's got some ties to em, but he wasnt talking to favorably about us ever since we lost to the Steelers. Does he take it too far for the Ravens too? Cause he felt the same way before we lost to them.

Just listen to him all year. The Cowboys can't do this and that, which Aikman is right about, it's is his delivery when he speaks. It's all love for McPuke and the Birds no matter what. Aikman spins it so it doesn't look so bad for McNugget!

He feels the same way before every Dallas game. Frankly, it's getting old. I wish he'd just keep his mouth shut about the Cowboys if he can only be negative.

I have always felt that Aikman goes way too far to prove he isn't a homer when calling a Cowboys game. I love T-Roy and always will as a player, but I mute he and Buck every time they call a Boyz game.

I agree that delivery goes a little too far like he's trying to prove to the public "Im not a homer!", but I just dont see that side of him when he's not calling games. When he's being interviewed, he doesnt sound like the robot he does when announcing and he seems pretty honest.

I honestly didnt see the negativity most of last year or early this year. It wasnt until we started stinking the joint up that he, along with most, lost faith in this team.

Have you guys already forgotten the accusation made by Boomer Esiason regarding the bias Aikman has for the Cowboys earlier this season when Dallas faced the Cardinals?

Anyone know what our record is when Aikman/Buck do the game? Seems like the Boys underperform in a lot of those games, not all, but a lot.

I won't have to worry about hearing Aikman and Buck call the game. I'll be at a sports bar out of necessity, and won't be able to hear a thing.

They call most of the Boys games and have for awhile.

Maybe this team should give him a reason to be positive...

I remember last year during the playoffs he said something along the lines of: "You know Eli Manning said that Texas Stadium is not a hard stadium to play in as a vistor, well I'll tell you this much he's never played here in a playoff atmosphere, and he's in for a surprise I can tell you that much"

We then go on to blow the game and the Giants win. He's not as bad as you all make him out to be, he's just trying to be honest.

Not a whole lot but it just goes to prove that there are some people out there that feel exactly the opposite as the sentiment expressed here on this thread.

I just find this a bit ironic.

My TV will be on mute, and Sirius Satellite Radio will be blaring the legendary Brad Sham.

That's the spirit...

I usually go that route myself...

Brad Sham is definitely one of my favorite announcers.
