Pro Bowl linebacker DeMarcus Ware had his foot surgery Thursday, but he wasn't the only Cowboy to go under the knife.
Alan Ball and Duke Preston had minor surgeries on their ankles but neither is expected to need a prolonged recovery time.
Ball, started three games last year at free safety with Ken Hamlin out with a high ankle sprain. He finished the year with 19 tackles, a tackle for a loss and four pass deflections. He was also one of the Cowboys best special teamers, finishing third with 16 tackles.
Preston was signed by the Cowboys on Aug. 27 but was inactive for the 15 weeks he spent on the roster. He is scheduled to be a restricted free agent.
