DMN: Blog: Archer: Hall of Fame 2013, part 2

The thing is, he probably will not get in first ballot.

Like it or not, LT, DE, DT, LB, QB are more glamorous positions and more important positions than OG.

He definately is first ballot material. But due to the unusually strong class this is, he may not go in 1st ballot.

Many will claim it to be more anti-Dallas bias....but the reality of it is, he won't get in because people generally don't understand/care about OGs (in comparison to the other positions) and that the other positions are perceived/are more important than OG.

Not because its Dallas.

I think it is a combination of both.

thanks for posting that, BrainPaint.. i hadn't read that before.. awesome article..

Larry Allen had better be a 1st ballot HOF'er.. he's a no-brainer..
I'd read it before, but it never hurts to read it again. Such a good article about someone who rarely says anything.

I am pretty sure it has been announced that he is retiring. I think I read something about it a week or two ago.
It's not official. There's a presumption that he's going to retire, but he hasn't informed the 49ers nor the league of his intentions yet.
