I have now heard the itty-bitty mini-Marion Barber piano recital that should be a part of Hard Knocks this evening and here's my review: "The best NFL pianist this side of Mike Reid."

Mike Reid? He's the former Outland Trophy winner at Penn State who was the 7th player taken in the 1970 NFL Draft by the Bengals. When his career ended, Reid played with symphonies around America and then settled into a song writing career.

No one who watches Barber at the piano ever will be able to think of him as "The Barbarian" again.

What does Barber have to say to Hard Knocks?

Absolutely nothing. He doesn't talk to the media.

He is heavy as a piano....when you hit him

I think in most cases MB3 hits harder than he gets hit. I am very impatient for Sunday to get here.

I heard he was performing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 once, and stiff-armed the Conductor after he missed a transition.

True story. I couldn't make this up.

Barber reminds me of Ricky Williams minus the pot.Ricky is a great RB to me.He is also a very quiet intelligent man.

He doesn't remind me anything of Rickey. He reminds me of Earl Campbell, but he's not Earl. He has to have the most physical running style I've seen since the Tyler Rose.

Yup. Missed the triple metso-forte and banged out a de-creschendo. Very common mistake... :)

Darrel Royal's best line about Earl Campbell:

"When Earl ran, snot flew."

Watch Earl he is definitely a beast but more straight ahead,Barber has the crab like moves of Ricky and Ricky is physical too.
