Mosley likes Ware

And so do I.

Morning News alum Matt Mosley has a pre-training camp overview of the Cowboys and, as readers of this blog would know, I'd be next in line on his assessment of DeMarcus Ware, one of the 10 best football players on the planet, for my money. Where we pick up, Matt's discussing Dallas' own Adam Jones ...
The talented cornerback (assuming he's fully reinstated) will replace starter Anthony Henry at some point this season, and it will happen sooner than most people think. In addition to adding Jones, the Cowboys were able to break in two first-round picks, running back Felix Jones and cornerback Mike Jenkins. But the player who will make the biggest impact on defense is linebacker DeMarcus Ware. The Cowboys believe Ware is poised to have a monster season. Ware has worked hard in the offseason to redistribute some of his weight and should be a dominating force.
Ware won't just benefit from his own gains, but also from the fortifications made in the secondary, which could give him that extra second to get to the quarterback or allow more exotic rush packages to spring him. So if there even is a next step -- since Ware was pretty darn good last year -- he's ready to take it. As always, thanks for reading.

Our talent level is at the BEST in the history of the franchise and NOTHING to show for it!

Do something Cowboys in 08/09!

I believe that LeBron James will be a key element in the success of the Cleveland Cavaliers next year.

I'm not sure this is the best in Cowboy history. I agree we are very talented, only one division title in 12 years, and no championships in 12 years.

The early championship teams of the 90's were probably more talented. They also had great depth at the time. If I remember correctly, we lost backups here that went to other teams and started and played for years. My personal opinion is that the 90's teams from 1992 - 1995 were the best, hands down.

Stop. Just stop. :bang2:

I'm only 21 years old and even I find that as a completely ignorant statement.

History.

While the 90's Cowboys were better and so much deeper, so were a few opposing teams such as SF.
Comparable to the league at the time this team may well be the most talented we have. That Pro Bowl numbers would indicate that. I know we have sucked in the playoffs but we did win 13 games and beat the eventual SB champs twice last year. We lost 4 games total and 2 were to the SB participants and the other two were to division rivals. The only team we lost to last year and did not beat in return was New England.

This current Cowboys team is loaded with Pro Bowlers.

..in history.

But perhaps the most overpaid in franchise history, considering the actual results they have achieved.

Jerry Jones is indeed walking a fine line.

In the next year or two..he's either going to be hailed as a guru owner or a complete duffus for pouring all his money into a team that can't win playoffs and Championships and has a billion dollar stadium for a bunch of overpaid losers.

I have to tell you..I haven't a clue which way it's really going yet.

This all reminds me so much of the late 60's teams and early 70's ones where at first, the team was hailed as young and talent laden and the new up-and-coming team to deal with after losing two close NFL championships to GB.

But the reality was they had all this talent and couldn't win the big games for like 2-3 more years and kept breaking the fans' hearts each year with underachievement until they finally won a SB in '71.

I personally just don't have a clue where this team stands in Cowboy history yet.

Neither do the rest of us.

But I always like Crazy Cowboy's enthusiasm. That's why they call him crazy I guess..Crazy loyal !!

I'm only 20...and CC is pretty close. If you go position by position there isn't a ton of discrepancy. Though I still think the teams of the 90's were better.

The 92-93 cowboys teams were very deep. They had 3rd string players that could have started for NFL teams and some eventually did. I know the Cowboys offense had amazing stats last year but would you really take that team over the Aikman, Irvin, Smith teams?

ask yourself this, who would you rather have Aikman in his prime or Romo?
Irvin or TO?
MBIII or the all-time leading rusher Emmitt?

The Early 90's O-line was the best in the league
The TE was very good.
The FB was very good.

I cant see how anyone would rather have Todays Offense over the 90's

As for the Defense, The front 7 was great back then. the seconday didnt have any really big names (Woodsen was a backup back then) but they were very effective because of the pressure supplied by Haley, Tolbert and company.

Im sure you could compare individuals and pick some of todays players on D but as for playing as a unit the 90's teams had it hands down

What will this year hold? no one knows. I for 1 hope they prove to be better than the 90's teams but as of now they are not

Not that I don't think Ware will have a monster year, but you can tell we're in the doldrums of the offseason when we're getting hyped up because a player "redistributed his weight in the offseason".

I think Kobe Bryant is the key to the Lakers... I mean the average fan knows how important Ware is to the Cowboys.
