New Tampa Bay quarterback Byron Leftwich will throw a pass to No. 1 WR Antonio Bryant in a game situation for the first time Sunday.

Leftwich got precious little preseason work with Michael Clayton, the Bucs' other starting receiver.

But Leftwich insists that chemistry with his receivers isn't a concern, even though Bryant missed all of preseason while recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery and Clayton missed all but one game because of a sore hamstring.

"No concern," Leftwich told reporters in Tampa. "I had a chance to throw to these guys all summer. Being here this summer and going through the OTAs and everything, it gets me to a point where I have no concerns over that."

Of course, Tony Romo told the Valley Ranch media last season that he had no concern about his chemistry with Roy Williams, and we all know how that worked out.

Romo also didn't go through OTAs and offseason workouts with Williams as Leftwich did with Bryant this summer. It is a bit different trying to fit a WR into a gameplan midstream.

All I can say about Leftwich from what I saw this preseason is that on one throw he can't hit the broad side of the barn (insert McNabb photo) and the next throw he will put it through a 1 foot opening in the top right corner.

He was scary wild!

What's Leftwich going to say? "I have no idea if the receiver will be there when I release the ball-- we just haven't worked together."

so basically he is mcnabb with no legs...to bad we don't play him twice..
ive allways been astounded with how i can see mcnabb make the worst throw ever. like literally, a few years ago he tossed it right to a defender with no WR around, it looked like bobby boushay.. then he will make a insane perfect throw..

Leftwich is a good QB if he has a long time to throw. I guess you could say that about Bledsoe too.
