Wade Phillips has preached family during his time with the Cowboys. He believes that a closer team will pull together when times get tough because they care for one another.

I always thought it was kind of hokey. But after a week at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Hotel, I might be willing to re-think it. The Cowboys that were in attendance throughout the Pro Bowl week were never far from each other.

I'm talking players, coaches, training staff, equipment staff, video staff, their wives, their girlfriends and their families. It was something to see. As soon as practice ended, they would go to the pool and just hang out, relax and have fun. Wade Wilson was the one responsible for trying to throw everybody in the pool.

On Friday, they were all dancing on the beach, having a good time.

"People were like, 'Man, your guys coaches are really tight. They all stood together, talking,'" cornerback Terence Newman said. "Some other coaches and stuff kind of do their own thing. It shows how our team is, coaches and players alike."

I hope this translates into the ultimate reward next season in their home stadium in front of the whole world.

Might as well aim for the top!

Nothing would be better than to win it all in our stadium!

They've got something really good in Dallas, just need a few more pieces and it will become special.

It better lol.

Otherwise we just sound like a sappy emotional bunch who likes to be around each other.

I've been saying for years that this is just what the Cowboys need instead of Jerry's superstars and nobodies approach. Hopefully, Jerry has finally learned the values of teammanship and the blue collar ethic and overachievers - it's hard for egocentric show-offs to grasp the value of those concepts.

As much as it pains me to say anything good about Jerry, he's finally on the right path here and I hope it bears fruit. If he has indeed learned, it bodes well for the Cowboys. Could even be that the dark cloud of misfortune that has hovered over the Cowboys the last 15 years will go away.

This is first thing I have read about Wilson doing anything all season long.

Same.

I wouldn't mind him being replaced to be honest.

I love how the word chemistry has been adopted in football. It sounds like a match maker service commercial on tv.

Why does it pain you to say anything good about Jerry?

All we need is an OL like the Colts or Jets IMO. Although I would like to have a ball hawking free safety.

In some ways I wish the SB would be played in the same neutral warm weather venue every year - non domed.

To me playing the game at a locale not on the usual circuit adds some special significance to the game. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena did that for me when we played there after the 92 season.

I also think it'd be really weird to play it on your home field.

I know my desires are unrealistic. Nevertheless, its my wish.
