The Cowboys will conclude their visits with draft prospects today as they meet with the coaches and owner and general manager Jerry Jones.

We have been able to confirm a few more names that either have been on or will finish their visits today: LSU safety Chad Jones, South Florida safety Nate Allen, Florida center Maurkice Pouncey, Ole Miss offensive lineman John Jerry and Missouri State tight end Clay Harbor.

For those counting at home, among the known visitors the Cowboys have had four offensive lineman, four wide receivers, three safeties, three cornerbacks, two defensive linemen, one inside linebacker, one outside linebacker, one tight end, one fullback.

Read into that what you will.

You can look at the OLB/ILB and TE/FB as basically interchangeable. All of the linebackers who have visited have either played both inside and outside or are projections inside. I think Harbour has also played fullback and tight end.

I like the mixture. We will not get all of them or even a majority of them, but I bet there is at least two-three that we do draft.

Don't we usually take guys we had in for a visit?

IIRC Newman didn't visit but the team explained later that they knew all they needed to about him

TE of LB early in the draft pisses me off.

Unless some godly prospect falls, I don't want to see TE or LB early in the draft.

Aside from Navarro Bowman, we really have not had much contact with the top OLB prospects likely to go in the first round. I do not even think Bowman will go in the first either. He could also go inside as a projection. As I have stated before, I absolutely am against an OLB in the first couple of rounds.

We will probably have Jerry Hughes in town for Dallas day, but that is it thus far unless we are being extremely secretive. Most of the linebackers we have had in (Lee, Goethel) have the capability of playing inside and we do need a young reserve for James' backup and these players are mostly middle round prospects or at best third round choices in all likelihood.

While it might not appear we "need" a TE, everyone we are looking at seem to be capable of playing fullback as well and we know Anderson is on thin ice. Plus, they are all middle to late round type prospects.

Harbor is listed as a fullback/h-back prospect by most sources, and typically the highest rated FB in the draft class by those who classify him as such.

Yeah, Bowman would definitely be an ILB in this defense. Archer shouldn't even have listed him as an OLB.

And to what Abe said... Yep, we usually take guys we've brought in. At least a couple of these guys will probably be Cowboys.
