Cowboys cuts scatter around league

Sixth-round OLB Erik Walden is the only player cut by the Cowboys to land on another team's 53-man roster. He was signed by the Chiefs.

A few other Cowboys cuts were picked up for other teams' practice squads: S Dowayne Davis (Kansas City), LB Tyson Smith (Miami) and NT Remi Ayodele (New Orleans).

All this talk about how talented our roster was, and how we'd have so many people picking up our cuts.

I blame Hostile.

I wish them the best as well..;)
I wish for them to fail in a miserable fashion. I'm not big on goodwill tidings.

It's going to be interesting to see if Tyson Smith ever amounts to anything. The little I saw of him he seemed to have good pass defense instincts. Of course, around here he'll forever be remembered as the guy the Barbarian knocked out.

That is the one that stings the most. Guess I will still get the chance to see him play this season.

It's not like they left the cowboys for more money they were cut.

That since only one guy made an active squad on another team..

...we must have done a pretty decent job of evaling our talent and keeping the right ones..

yes..?

Still..being so heavy at DB and OL is interesting.

We must plan on using all these guys for a lot of package substitutions and to not overwork a select few as the season wears on.

Or..

it means that we need more guys to replace RW in all the packages he's supposed to be in but isn't because the coaches don't trust him.

Which means we are carrying 2 more DBs on the roster than we should because RW isn't up to snuff..?

Hmmmm...

No we lost some people we would have loved to have around. Davis and Smith were high on our list but where in the heck can you put them. Same with Walden. He wasn't as ready as Smith but someone likes him obviously.

.......and God bless us, everyone.

I can't believe no one picked up Rodney Hannah.

He may bump Tony Curtis out next year.

That was a pleasant surprise. I thought he'd get claimed for sure.

So Lowber didn't even make anyone's practice squad?

I guess he was even more raw than we thought....

IMO, Alan Ball will be the player released to make room for Keith Davis. That leaves us with 5 safties (same as last year) and 6 CBs (1 more than last year). I'd say we have an extra CB mainly because of the talent we have there.

With the o-line, I'm assuming Kosier's injury is the reason we went with an extra one, but Berger may be released if we sign either Bollinger or Simms after week one.
