Hunter Smith has run for a touchdown pass. He has thrown a touchdown pass. And he's a punter.

Running back Clinton Portis has thrown a pass this season. Wide receiver Antwaan Randle El was sacked on his one attempt this season but is 20-of-25 for 281 yards and four touchdowns in his career. Randle El's 153.1 passer rating is the highest in NFL history among players who have attempted at least 12 passes.

When the Cowboys play Washington Sunday, they have to be ready for everything - and anything.

It's what desperate teams do, so maybe the Commanders will try a surprise on-side kick, or have Randle El throw a pass or run some form of the wildcat.

"You definitely have to be on high alert," linebacker Bobby Carpenter said, adding this about Randle El: "His trickeration level is high. Everybody remembers the Super Bowl him throwing a touchdown pass but me being a Big 10 guy I remember watching him under center at Indiana."

Every week your favorite columnist, Jacques Taylor, and I have a friendly bet about when the Cowboys will use the flea-flicker or halfback option pass. Bill Parcells loved the trick play. Richie Anderson beat the Commanders with a TD pass to Terry Glenn in 2004.

But so far assistant head coach Jason Garrett hasn't called on much "trickeration." Jason Witten's pass last year at Philly was a draw-it-up-in-the-mud play and Patrick Crayton's one attempt was incomplete.

Why limit yourself to only players above 12? Why not just go down to 6 or 3?

Heck, I wanna know who has the highest passer rating EVER, no matter the number of passes they have thrown.

What a stupid stat.

I did my job, I posted about zorn and Commanders possibly doing a onside's kick on the board yesterday to get out there so cowboys are aware.
