Sunday's Seahawks visit to Cowboys Stadium will be seen in only 17 percent of American homes. That, of course, is downright un-American.
Here are the markets scheduled to get the game: Albuquerque, Austin, Dallas, Houston, Memphis, Oklahoma City, Portland, San Antonio, Seattle and Tulsa. Basically, they are home markets for both teams (Memphis?).
This ends a five-game run in the national sportlight for the Cowboys. It started with NBC Sunday Night Football, moved to ESPN Monday Night Football and then came three weeks as Fox's primo game. Sigh.
Calling the noon Seahawks-Cowboys game will be Dick Stockton and Charles Davis. Here's how the game could be impacted: There will be fewer cameras to capture the action. Fewer cameras mean fewer replay angles. One would assume that means fewer calls overturned upon review.
And by the way, Fox has one game that will get lower distribution: Rams (0-7) at Lions (1-5). The game is scheduled to be seen only in St. Louis, home of 2 percent of America's TV sets.
The big game, of course, is Brett Favre at Green Bay at 3:15 pm. Thom Brennaman and Troy Aikman will have the call that goes to 91 percent of America.
