Calvin "Lucky" Watkins reports that the Cowboys will let Flozell Adams test the open market before extending a deal to the Pro Bowl left tackle.
If the price for Adams is too high for the Cowboys, Pat McQuistan starts at left tackle.
Doug Free might have something to say about that in training camp. Either way, if Jerry can't come up with the cash to keep Flo around, an inexperienced second-day draft pick will be protecting Tony Romo's blindside.

Nothing wrong with letting him test the market. It's fair to all parties.

If he signs elsewhere, it simply means we couldn't afford him.

Time to move on.

Get younger, get cheaper.

This makes me nervous as heck.

Hopefully Hudson Houck can maximize what he has available at LT if Flo leaves.

mucho  for Houck if he can make this work!

This makes me nervous, yes, but it's not totally unheard of. There is the chance that Jerry will gamble after seeing that Manning was still fairly well protected by a rookie LT last season.

I'm not sure how I feel about it, either way, honestly.

I'm not surprised.

And, for what it's worth, I'd rather have McQ, Free or Martin protecting Romo than a rook.

And don't assume it'll be Romo's blindside. I wouldn't recommend it, but they could slide Columbo over to LT. Or Davis, but as we all saw last year, he is a much better Guard than Tackle.

I agree Eddie. Lets see how all this plays out.

If he hits the open market, I would say that the odds are that he's gone. Too many teams desparate for help there. And when was the last time a Pro Bowl LT actually hit the market?

I think you have to give the young guys a chance at some point.

I guess that point is now.

i think pat or free can handle it. maybe they can hear the snap count:p:

yes, false start flo did/does have a hearing problem. yes, he did cost us 5 yards from time to time.

but in the end - that's all i can fault him for. we could have it a lot worse than we do now in Flo and i'd hate to find out the hard way how good he really was.

people just get so caught up in what they immediately see, they miss the whole picture and yell at the immediate issue - big or not.

Heath Benedict of Newberry in the 2nd round.

Nice prospect, but he's probably a little too raw to step into a starting LT role next year.

Might be better suited to guard anyway.

He's gone. Too many teams with money willing to spend. Hudson houck will need to earn his money.

I actually agree that he is better at Guard. He's my hope for LG.

BIGG to LT? It might happen folks. I prefer him ay RG.

It's a hard thing to do, but I think you have to bite the bullet and let him go. It's pretty likely that paying him a ton now would be buying at the top of the market for him. He's older and isn't getting any better.

If we're going to be perennial contenders, letting good older players walk is just something we're going to have to get used to.

But hey, maybe no one blows him away and we match whatever someone offers him. He's older, so it's possible.

i see your points but i see the whole picture. i have never liked him and he will cost to much money to stay. you will not know about pat or free until they play so yeah it is 50/50 but one i can live with. jmo
