Safety Pat Watkins is active for the first time since spraining a posterior cruciate ligament in his knee Dec. 13 against San Diego.

With Watkins up, rookie safety Mike Hamlin is inactive.

Also inactive are cornerback Cletis Gordon, guard Montrae Holland, center Duke Preston, tackle Pat McQuistan, linebacker Jason Williams and linebacker Curtis Johnson.

For the Vikings, wide receiver Jaymar Johnson, cornerback Karl Paymah, tight end Garrett Mills, center Jon Cooper, linebacker J Leman, defensive end Jayme Mitchell and defensive tackle Letroy Guion are inactive. Sage Rosenfels is the third quarterback

Poor Jason Williams...he's been a huge disappointment so far. NOt a high draft pick, but he was our first, and it was hoped he'd be a terror on special teams while learning to play LB....to be inactive and not even covering kicks worth a damn is really disappointing.

He's a rookie from a tiny school.

He needed a year to get aclimated. It doesnt mean anything that he didnt do much this year.

Our special teams were outstanding without him, so it didnt hurt us.

With Carpenter taking one of the backup spots at ILB and Octavien being able to play both inside and outside along with being a top special team player. He really didn't have much of a chance. Even another top ST linebacker is inactive in Curtis Johnson.

Nothing wrong with letting a raw kid sit, so long as he learns something.

Much more disappointing to me is Montrae Holland still being inactive. What a foolish trade that was.

For a 5th?

I don't see how.

Why? It was a late rd pick and we got a guy who was a proven starter. Did you think we were gonna get an established hallf of fame calibar player for it?

He was insurance for Davis and, more importantly, Kosier who was coming off an injury. You'd like the trade a lot better if one of the starting OG's went down.
