JerryWorld opener: Cowboys vs. Giants on Sunday Night Football?

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

From Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback:

I think my money is on Dallas hosting somebody (the Giants, perhaps?) in the first Sunday night game of the year on NBC Sept. 13. The Cowboys are opening the showplace stadium to end all showplace stadiums in Arlington, at a cost of $1.15 billion, and the NFL will want to give Jones this mega-platform to open the place.

King frames that as speculation, but considering he's on the NBC payroll, it's probably pretty well-informed speculation.

Yeah I could see it...I figured it'd be them or Washington either on SNF or MNF

As if we all couldn't have bet on this happening....but nice to read, even if from BK.

that would be odd since we just opened with them on snf on nbc in 07.

I can hear coughlin and tuck and jacobs talking about how they are disrespected by the new stadium and jerry jones already.

If we do play them, their comments will be alot of fun all summer with the lead up to the game.

I'd like Philly at Philly so maybe we'll be motivated and get that game over with.

Skins would be my choice but that would turn into a nightmare if we lost

Sunday Nighter against the Chargers seems VERY possible.

I'd love for it to be the Raiders. I want a W to open the new joint, and Oakland provides the best shot at that.

Agreed.

I am going to be freaking pissed if we open the stadium with a beat down from a division rival.

Yuck, even the thought of that makes me want to puke.

What will be interesting is next year the New Medowlands stadium opens for the Giants and the Jets.

There will be two games to open the stadium.

Could be back to back - Saturday night - Giants.
Sunday Night Jets........

It could, but I have to imagine that Cbs wants that for thanksgiving.

Rivers vs romo
Turner vs phillips
LT and gates vs witten and barber/felix/choice

merriman vs ware...

new stadium.

IT will be a huge draw for cbs to put that game on thanksgiving.

SNF against the Skins would be better, IMO. I'd rather open with them then the Giants. There is just something about the idea of the Cowboys opening the new stadium with a very convincing win over the friggen Skins that would get me more excited than a win over the Giants would.

Your team really strikes the fear of god in people.

How does a fan of a team that lost to Cincy, SF and St.Louis talk trash to anyone anywhere?

Cuz we also beat Dallas, Arizona, Philly 2x, etc. (besides we lost to SF for the draft pick LOL)

Doubt we strike much fear(unless you have an overpriced FA we can take from ya), but it's the offseason, and the joke was just to available.
