Tony Romo didn't want to talk about the singing spectacle he made of himself at Wrigley Field, but his pal Patrick Crayton had no problem tackling the topic. Big surprise, huh?

"That's the first time you got to hear Romo sing," Crayton said, apparently aware of rockin' Romo YouTube clips (can't link due to profanity). "We get to hear it daily, and it's like horrible. It is bad. He finally got a replay back of it, and he finally admitted it. I'm like, 'Dude, I've been hearing it for four years. You're just now admitting that?'"

Crayton even came up with a theory about why it took Romo so long to admit that he can't carry a tune.

"I think Jessica may have been feeding his ego a little bit: 'Sing that, baby, sing that,'" Crayton said. "And I think he kind of rolled with the punches." :D

If the jukebox was on Tony's back he could not carry a tune.

Great, so now Crayton is going to get a letter from Dallas telling him that it isn't appropriate to be talking about their quarterback's girlfriend... :( I think they are just going to have to start adding that statement to all their letterhead.

Uh oh, Crayton mentioned the "J" word.

Wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago that the new rookie TE from A&M caught some grief for saying something similar?

EDIT ... opps, VJ beat me to it.

That was a sad state of... "singing".. It even made O'reilly's "pinheads and patriots" list last night. Bill O' put it up against his own performance at Wrigley.

It's called vets rights when the rookie earns some strips he can say it to. :laugh2:

why was Romo even at wrigley singing?
Steve Rich, executive director, Eastern Illinois University Alumni Association: I just wanted to pass along - a for whatever it's worth - that Tony Romo threw out the first pitch at the Cubs game this past Sunday at the request of the Eastern Illinois University Alumni Association. Not only was he back in the area to see his mom for Mother's Day but he also took some time to help his alma mater. Again, I'm not sure it needs to be "explained" but he certainly wasn't out to get attention for himself. He was helping us generate some publicity for the University in the Chicago area.

Mickey: Well I sure do appreciate that, and see there, some of you ought to be ashamed for jumping on the guy's case, as if he was selfishly seeking attention for himself. Some day, and I'm not sure when, a whole bunch of you will realize Romo, the guy who just happened to set the team's single-season passing record - yards and touchdown passes - and who led this team to the second most points scored in a season is a good guy and that his priorities are in very good order.

I have to say Romo should never sing in public again. That was horrible!

Yup. He's got nothing on Carl Lewis. That's for sure.

I love people like Romo, ... they are rare.

People that don't take themselves too seriously, and that aren't afraid to laugh at themselves.

It actually is a sign of a person that is secure in who he is.

It's not like he was wanting people to think he could sing, or like he was auditioning for American Idol or anything.

He was just having a good time.

I think that was just for the rook(s)

basically they have to earn a place on the team before they start critiquing the vets
