Pack finally found back to complement Favre
The Packers rank last in the league in rushing offense (81.8 yards per game), so LB Bradie James was awfully surprised by what he saw while studying Green Bay. RB Ryan Grant has been really good.
"I had no idea of how well he was running the ball," James said. "When I watched film, I was like, 'Wow, this guy is actually a good running back.' He's one of the better running backs we've faced."
James certainly isn't the only person surprised by Grant. After all, the dude was cut in the preseason by the Giants and only got a shot to start after a rash of injuries to ineffective Packers running backs.
The result: The Packers suddenly have a running game capable of making foes pay for focusing on Brett Favre. Grant has rushed for 467 yards (4.6 per carry) and two TDs in the last five games. Grant isn't fancy, but he's a decisive runner who breaks a lot of tackles.
"I like the way he doesn't waste any steps, runs low with his cleats in his ground, natural form lane runner, one-cut mentality," Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said.

Witten rolls over on Romo
Tony Romo put forth great effort to play down the storyline about him idolizing Brett Favre. His best buddy on the team advises not to believe a word Romo says.
"The truth is that he loved him," Witten told reporters with a big smile.
Witten laughed about Romo trying to play it off this week. Witten pointed out that Romo can do a dead-on Favre impersonation, which Romo did for a national TV audience before the first start of his career.
"Anybody that can get the Brett Favre walk down has spent a lot of time watching him," Witten said.

Crayton: "I'm good to go"
In the locker room today, WR Patrick Crayton said he'll practice today and is "good to go" for Thursday night's game. He declined to discuss what "percent" health he's at, but said that the time off has done him some good for his sprained ankle.
"It needed that time," Crayton said.
His addition would be big to a receiving corps facing a deep crew of Packer corners.
