BLOGGER'S NOTE: FB Deon "Cricket" Anderson might be the Cowboys' most entertaining character, so I figured it'd be fun to give the dude a diary. He'll discuss whatever is on his wacky mind in Cricket's Chirps, which will run every Saturday throughout the season.

The question of the day is, what's up with my crazy finger tape?
You see it in movies. You see it sometimes on the basketball court when people get injuries to their fingers. It's just like how T.O. was talking about my running style. There's also a method to my madness when it comes to finger tape.

OK, like a boxer, they get their hands tape to make their punches harder. They're able to clench their fists and throw a harder punch due to the tape. You know, when I squeeze, my fingers turn white. Therefore, it allows me to hit people harder.

First off, I wouldn't tape my hands, and I'd try to catch the ball and sometimes jam my fingers. This keeps your fingers from getting jammed, I'm able to get a better grip on the ball, plus, on an iso block, you can hit a linebacker that much harder due to the finger tape.

I do it myself. It's a custom job. I usually start out on my right hand. Since I'm left-handed, it's easier.

I dislocated my right ring finger, so instead of going the usual clockwise direction, I go counter-clockwise. That gives it that little twist, so it looks straighter.

It takes about a minute, a minute and a half. Then you're ready to go.

I'm looking forward to having him back tomorrow, he'll really help with establishing the run.
