BLOGGER'S NOTE: FB Deon "Cricket" Anderson might be the Cowboys' most entertaining character, so I figured it'd be fun to give the dude a diary. He'll discuss whatever is on his wacky mind in Cricket's Chirps, which will run every Saturday throughout the season.
I knew from a young, young age that I was destined to be a warrior.
I could feel it in everything I did. With video games, I was never into anything like Mario Kart or anything like that. I was into more brutal games, like Mortal Kombat, something physical.
I was watching an old boxing match. Who was it? Buster Douglas vs. Evander Holyfield. You know, I was watching their technique and their footwork and stuff, and honestly I was shocked that I was calling their punches before they came.
I don't remember seeing them fight, but I was like, 'Jab, jab, cross!' And he was jab, jabbing and crossing! I knew I was destined to be a boxer when I was young.
I asked my aunt, 'Aunt Tanya, can I box?' She said, 'No, Deon, it's too violent. Go play football.'
So I put my mind into football instead of boxing, but at the same time, I could have been a great boxer. Why? Because they thought I was right-handed, so they taught me how to bat right-handed, do everything right-handed. So my stance is right-handed, but I'm a southpaw.
So those jabs will be knocking guys out. Pow! One-hitter quitters!
I am the truth! I am the next Mike Tyson ... without the psychotic moods.
