Davis wants a shot at Hester

Special teams ace Keith "Fiddy" Davis doesn't want to hear any talk about kicking away from Bears return man extraordinaire "Heaven" Devin Hester.

"We better kick it to him," said Davis, who's been dreaming about putting a big hit on Hester. "I don’t want to go around and start pooch kicking and start trying to kick away from him. I don’t like that. I figure, if he’s supposed to be the best, let’s see how good we are."

The Bears laugh at opponents who want to challenge Hester.

"It's an ego thing in the NFL: 'We can cover him. We can tackle this guy,'" Brian Urlacher said on yesterday's conference call. "Everyone says that, but I don't see too many guys doing it so far in his career. I just hope people continue to kick to him and keep thinking they can tackle him."

When will Coughlin get canned?

Giants coach Tom Coughlin, a Parcells protege and notorious grump, tried to play nice with the media this year. But that's awfully tough when you're 0-2 in a town like New York. Coughlin told reporters he's in a serious mood and snapped at several questions yesterday.

How long do you folks think Coughlin has left in the Big Apple? Prediction: He gets canned during the Giants' bye week, meaning New York will have a brand new head coach when the Cowboys come to town Nov. 11.

How about 'Hester is definately a threat fielding the ball. I hope we can keep him in check if we do kick to him.'

A lot less ammo than 'I hope we kick it to him cause I am ready to take his head off cause he is a scrub.'

These guys are football players, they are not ushers or choir boys. They don't get bullied by posters of a message board or the media to keep their mouth shut. So I am GLAD that he will be gunning for Hester and that is the attitude that I want my players to have...

Its cocky and its stupid to say things like that to the media. Like we need the Bears only source of offense to get fired up and pissed off because of something stupid that 5th string safety Entrance Wound Davis said.
