Romo made a quick and hard throw that Bryant said was on him quicker than he expected. Despite that, Bryant put the blame on himself for the interception.

``I've got to make that catch,'' Bryant said today. ``That's why they brought me here.''

Bryant also explained why he fielded a punt at the Cowboys' 4 with about 22 seconds reamining. The coaching staff, Bryant said, told him to field the ball and try to make a play rather than let the ball land and hope it bounced into the end zone.

Eh, with Dallas' luck that ball would have been downed inside the 1...we had no shot but to try to get a big return.

I'm glad he is taking responsibility. All he said was true.

After his training camp injury, I predicted that we wouldn't see Dez to his full ability until week 7 or 8 so I expect him to start turning it up some more these upcoming weeks

Yeah why would they encourage playmakers to make a play?

Get real

What interception? did I miss something...

Tony threw 2 picks...right?

One off the helmet of a DL...and the other was too Witten...

Why is Bryant taking the blame?

I agree it's his fault. The ball went right through his hands. He can't help but take responsibility for it.

I don't know where they get that it was an INT though. Cause that pass wasn't picked it just forced us to punt after missing that 3rd down conversion.

That gator arm catch was all on Dez. He knows it.

I know they wanted a play, but what they should have told him was to get as much straight yardage as possible and then go out/down to preserve time. If we'd had another 10 seconds on the clock, thats time to get to midfield or their 45 to try a nuclear kick from Buehler.

They would have had nearly 30 seconds on the clock with the ball at the 20. Instead, they got 13 seconds with the ball at the 8.

Situational football much?

Why? They would have been more likely to score on a punt return than having the offense move the ball down the field with how little time was left.

The Vikings called timeout with 29 seconds left. With the snap and hang time, IF the ball had gone into the end zone, there would have been about 22 seconds left. Or it could have been downed inside the 5 with less than 20 seconds left.

I'm sure Fraley just made a typo. The rest of the blog item calls it an incompletion.

Cue Wade Phillips coming out and admonishing Bryant for making the rest of the team look bad for actually showing some accountability and then taking the blame for both plays himself, while chuckling, "but gosh darn Tony can toss that piggy skin pretty hard, hayuck."

6 more sec was not enough. In my view there was only 2 real choices return the punt or go after the block. Myself I would have rather seen us go after the punter, if you rough him the game is over but if you get the block your setup in FG range right away

me too.

Take the ball at the 20 with 25sec left is better than ball at 10 or even 30 with 10sec left.

Hello McFly!!!! That at you, red head boy!!!

Good point! I just don't see why the coaching staff would tell a guy to return the ball when even his good returns are negated by penalties.

Horrible call IMO.
