Dissecting pronouns

Terrell Owens and Tony Romo. Just mention their names together and you're bound to get a reaction. I'm sure the comments on this blog post will be huge.
But this last Owens-Romo story non-story is just dumb.
At last week's OTA's Romo spent the good portion of his interview period answering questions about Owens. It was expected with that being Romo's first time in front of a bunch of reporters since the season ended.
And Romo said all of the right things about Owens being a "great player," and having to move on and the players having to step up. But he never mentioned Owens by name. Oh, the horror. Stop the presses.
It turns out this has become a story and Owens was asked about it in Buffalo Wednesday.
"Dude, I could care less," Owens said to the Buffalo media. "I mean, he doesn't mention my name, that's fine. What about it?"
Of course, this brings up the Bill Parcells' story that keeps being repeated that he never mentioned Owens by name, just as "the player." False. He called him Terrell. He called him Owens. He never called him T.O. And he said "he" a lot. He hardly called Drew Bledsoe, Drew, and that was his guy. But now it's out there that he NEVER called Owens by name.
Are we now in the business of dissecting pronouns? To steal a line from JJT: ridiculous.
I did an informal survey of four guys who were part of Romo's session and nobody noticed him going out of his way to make sure he didn't say, Terrell, or T.O. He did say he wanted to keep the matter private if he had talked to Owens since the Cowboys released the receiver. That's fine.
There have been and will be enough things to generate headlines from and about Owens and Romo this year but to make something out of this, in the words of my good buddy, JJT, ridiculous.
