Does Davis make that big a difference?

Superstar columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor focuses on special teams in this week's newsletter. Perhaps Keith "Fiddy" Davis' absence due to a partially torn pectoral is the reason the Cowboys' coverage teams have allowed return TDs the last two games.

It looks like the Cowboys will have their special teams captain back for the battle of the unbeatens. Davis practiced Wednesday and told Wade Phillips that he's ready to play.

If he's that important, and I'm beginning to think he is, pay that man and never let him leave. :D

Good. I don't think it's a coincidence that we shut down Devin Hester then allow the Rams and Bills to run a kick back on us in consecutive weeks in Davis's absence. One player can make all the difference on special teams.

Yes, I have been saying that for two weeks.

I was at the game and watched Bobby Carpenter on the td return- he is as stiff a linebacker as I have seen- he has no fluidity in the hips, cannot change direction and runs as upright as a lumbering tackle.

He was the primary reason we have had trouble the past two weeks, they are running at his lane.

I would be surprised if he is in the league in two years.

carpenter couldn't even get close enough to make a tackle against the bills. hopefully it's his injury and not a total lack of athletic ability
