I'm no expert on punishment versus rehabilitation but this read sure sounds like the rehabilitation appears to be complete and the remaining time is punishment.

If that is the case, I hope he gets paroled if its within the reasonable bounds of the justice system. I don't get the thought process that says punishment for punishment's sake is helping anyone.

I'm sorry for the pain of the relatives who lost loved ones because of Goodrich. But I think they will find much more peace via forgiveness than through extracting another pound of flesh by whatever means.

Lest anyone think I don't understand the reality of what happened to the innocent folks in this case, my 18 year old niece lost her life when a driver fell asleep at the wheel and ran her & her friends over as they walked along the road.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you what happened legally to the kid who killed these kids (2 or 3 as I recall) with his car. But I do know that our family has long since forgiven as best we can tell.

As unfathomable as what Goodrich did is for some of you I feel compassion for him if his words are sincere.

Let mercy triumph.

Unfortunately the sad story continues yet again only this time the player to be named is Donte Stallworth, just a reminder Don't Drink and Drive it can change your life in a heart beat.
It's not worth it!

You read his life story pre-accident: the drinking, staying out late at strip clubs, driving fast, not putting in effort at his job, hanging around the house like a kid playing video games... you begin to understand how the life he was living leads up to this horrible event... if he isn't at the strip club at 2 am and he's at home sleeping like regular people do he's not at the accident scene... if he's not speeding he might have a chance to react and avoid the accident, if he hadn't been drinking he may have been slightly more aware and been able to slow down in time, if he did more with his life other than play video games he may have had something more important in his life like a committed relationship that would have kept him at home before 2 am, if he had learned to take care of business at his job he would have known better than to put his career in jeopardy hanging out at the wrong places late at night...
