The Cowboys open the pre-season at Cowboys Stadium tomorrow night against Denver.

Jason Garrett will follow the script used by Cowboys head coach coaches before him. The starters will get a series, maybe two, before he turns the game over to the backups.

OOOH yes you're definitely right! Sorry bro...

I think these and the guys you named are the key points of interest, but I will also be interested to see Elam and McGee as well.

I think Elam will be fine... McGee should continue to progress but I wouldn't cut Kitna.

I agree. I'm not interested in Elam because I'm worried about him, but because I haven't really watched him closely since he was in Dallas, and i want to get more familiar with him. I agree with you about McGee as well - he definitely should be better, but I would be shocked if he were ready to replace Kitna yet. This should be an important year for him - a project only gets so long, and he has to keep making significant strides to hang on.

Yeah I think Brent has a chance to be a good one.

I'm excited about Brent. I thought it was huge that he was able to step in and play real minutes last year as a 7th round supplemental draft pick who missed training camp. He has some really nice upside.

I want to see what Miller brings to the table. It seems that if he shows something over the next couple of weeks Choice could be on the way out.

Another point of interest. And what about Lissemore - i will be interested to see his progress. Not many expect much of him, but he was unusually fast for a 7th round D-linemen in the same way Ratliff was, so I'm hoping to see if he has a chance to develop.

Great point... I think the kid is the real deal and Choice could be toast in Dallas.

I seem to remember Lissemore flashing a little bit last year before getting hurt. He will be another player to keep an eye out for in the coming weeks. It wouldn't hurt my feelings in the least if Lissemore made Igor expendable. Matter of fact, if we could deal both Choice and Igor in exchange for some picks I would be all for it. Provided ofcoarse that both Miller and Lissemore show that they deserve a bump up the depth chart.

I'm looking forward to seeing the defense as a whole perform. Need to see how much pressure we put on the Denver qbs. Of course if we get good pressure it should help out the secondary. GO COWBOYS! :starspin

What I'm hoping to see is both 1st unit offense and defense going out and playing very well. After that focus more on indivdual trying to make the team and like most pre season games expect things to get sloppy as the game goes on.

If Lissemore looks good in TC and preseason that will create an oveload at DE. I still think they will keep Igor even if that is the case though because that will ensure we have depth in both run stoppers and guys who can penetrate on passing downs. Admittedly I am saying that based on the assumption Lissemore will fall more into the penetration category, but if he can prove to be an up and comer in both areas it could make things interesting.

You make a good point. It will be interesting to see how the remainder of camp develops.

I wouldn't count on too much scheming from Rob, as he says in this PC http://www.dallascowboys.com/multim...es.cfm?id=AAC6F098-AF52-9B30-F216EA060413DC0E around 2:40 mark
"to be honest with you I remember every single game that I ever coached in the NFL, the 'real' ones. Now the preseason, I don't remember a one of them. I mean, swear to God I don't. But I remember players, how they make the team, and that's how they make the team. They show up they do a great job in preseason and that's what it is.
Do we wanna win? Hell yeah they're keeping score." :laugh2:
