Gerald Sensabaugh had the cast and stitches removed from his right thumb Monday and is expecting to play against Atlanta on Oct. 25.

Sensabaugh would not rule out practicing this week, although Wade Phillips expects to keep all of the less-than-100 percent regulars to not work this week.

"I can't promise anything, but we'll see," Sensabaugh said about playing vs. the Falcons.

Sensabaugh suffered a similar injury in college and missed just one week. For this surgery, however, he said he had the plate from the first operation removed and the thumb was repaired with pins and screws.

Ok, sounds like he'll be ready... I want to see him and Michael Hamlin playing side by side! Ken Hamlin stinks and we all know how bad Watkins sucks.

I'm hoping he comes back. He's by far our best safety, although given his competition for that I don't know if that is really saying a whole lot.

What makes you think a rookie who hasn't played a down is going to be better than Ken Hamlin?

Also, what about this coaching staff makes you think he'd even get a shot?

Michael Hamlin has a nose for the ball... He produced throughout his college career.

I have to admit I am getting kind of fed up with K Hamlin and his play, he always looks a step behind....Watkins didn't play all that bad in my opinion....he made up some ground on that Bowe tying touchdown and he came from the other side of the field. But sadly our safeties seem to lack ball hawking instincts like Ed Reed and late Sean Taylor, those guys could see the plays coming and make a jump on the ball.....oh well, maybe the other Hamlin has got some ball hawk in him.
