Glenn injury serious

Receiver Terry Glenn suffered a new injury to his right knee this week and his status for the season opener is in question. Glenn had a cyst removed from his knee on Aug. 1 and just returned to practice on Wednesday.

Glenn looked pretty good cutting during the 30-minute period that the media was allowed to watch practice. But today, Glenn wasn't at practice and Wade Phillips said Glenn has some swelling.

We're not sure how long Glenn will be out, but it puts a strain on the wide receivers. Patrick Crayton steps up to the starting lineup and Sam Hurd moves into the No. 3 slot.
Where Miles Austin and Isaiah Stanback fit also is to be determined. Austin probably gets more time than Stanback.

If Glenn's injury means season-ending, and we're not saying it is right now, the Cowboys most likely will find a wideout to replace him.

DeSoto's finest gets some time
DeSoto's finest, Patrick Crayton will move into the starting lineup if Terry Glenn misses any significant time with a knee injury.

Crayton, in his fourth-season, is an unrestricted free agent after the season and this potential opportunity to start raises his value to the Cowboys.

Did you watch Hurd in the preseason? One play he'd look like a world beater and then he'd fumble. He plays like that in the regular season he'll be lucky to hang on the roster.

If you think he's at TG level yet, you're wrong.

Don't want to sound like the ultimate homer here, but I think Hurd is player. The ONLY thing that scares me a little bit is when he tries to get that extra yard on his way down, he puts the ball in some precarious positions.
