Good news on Leonard Davis

Albert Breer reports from Valley Ranch that guard Leonard Davis is practicing today. Davis' status for Sunday's game against Washington has been uncertain because of an ankle sprain.

More later ...

this isnt good news its GREAT news

I'm holding my comment on happiness until I hear that he's playing. It could be that he's practicing to see how well it holds up. A man of his girth can cause that ankle to swell up with pain.

I would rest him right now. That is the best thing for ankle sprains.

Well... that should just about end any hopes Washington had of preventing a double digit loss.

Afterall; we can be cocky because it's only the team that has to guard against overconfidence, right?

It's pro football if he can play he will.

I agree buy I don't know if it's all because it's pro football, but Davis is probably tired of the losing that he indured during his Cardinal career. Now he probably feels that he is part of a very good team and doesn't want to miss a beat. Self-pride.

I agree. Does anyone think we need him to beat the Commanders? They're awful.

Being a football player has a lot to do with it. You are learn early on that this is a game where playing with pain is just part of the deal. He will go out and test it and if he feels he can go he will but guys don't just play only when they feel 100%. No doubt coming to a winning team is added motivation

I do think we would likely win without him even. However, I have had ankle sprains that were pretty much normal in about 3 days and waiting an extra week wouldn't have really helped me that much.

If that's the case, let him play if he feels 100% and doesn't want to miss. You can't take any opponent for granted in the NFL, IMO.

If Davis is like 75% though, I would hold him out.

Davis looks fine

Practice access for the media just wrapped up, and G Leonard Davis was a full participant, there for stretcing and bag drills. Wade Phillips seemed unsure whether he would play, and there's certainly a chance that Davis will be held back in the closed part of practice, but he looked ready to go in the part that Cowboys Blog viewed.

Everyone except Terry Glenn was there, and no one was held out, though CB Anthony Henry was still playing a "sub packages" role. And here's one last nugget: Rookie LB Justin Rogers seemed to be playing the role of Chris Cooley for the look team. They had him flanked out on Roy Williams during defensive passing skeleton work.

If I were going to purposely rest a starter/possible probowler on the line, I would have to rest the franchise QB too. I would hate to be cute and rest Davis when he could play just to have a DT run over his replacement and put Romo out for the year.

If he's injured then you have to, but if he is healthy enough to play, why risk the QB over an OG?

We can rest both after the half anyway. Can't wait to see Johnson throwing to Stanback.

If Roy did such an awfull job against Shockey, why would we be doing this?

Let the post frenzy begin.

Please don't turn this into a RW thread.
