I have no doubt it will happen. 25+ draw plays will do that to people.

We haven't run effectively the last few years because of the type of runs we attempt.. like the gosh darn draw!!

We should be lining up with a fullback or two TEs and try some old fashioned smash mouth.

Boom.. pound it up in there.. Boom .. pound it up in there.. Bam.. play action..
and not that phony half-baked play action, but the real kind, bend over at the waist and sell that fake, shove that ball into the back's gut before you pull it out to look downfield, have a tight end as an outlet if the safeties didn't bite type play action etc..

How about a toss sweep? Hey that might be interesting.

Didn't Hostile make a thread about all the possibilities and potential mismatches we could create this year? He drew some nice diagrams to get us excited about the season.. pfft!

Mismatches.. Capers covers Witten (our TE mind you) with Woodson, blitzes the crap out of us and we are effectively dead in the water.. come on.

My problem with Garrett is i simply do not like the type of offense he chooses to run. Its finesse, finesse, and trickery.

Just my opinion but this does not lead to a tough team mentality. You know why we don't win in December, because December is for men. The whole season prior to that time of year should be designed to prepare your club to consider itself the tought meanest SOBs in the league.

Think the Cowboys have considered themselves that way last couple of seasons?

it gives your defense a rest at the very least. also penalties happen more in the passing game than running game.

No, first downs are what give the defense a rest. If you run every down and still go 3 and out, the defense gets no benefit at all.

Garrett just tries to get too cute too often. I just think he gets grilled harder for poor games than Wade does. I don't like either of them personally but I know that our offense has won far more games for us than our defense has. One side is full of blue collar low round draft picks, the other with countless first round picks. Just sayin.

He's the OC, he gets grilled when the offense does poorly.

Wade gets grilled whether the defense or offense does poorly.

The defense was out there A LONG time vs GB and held up as best as they could IMO. the TD after the fumble...that was tough as it was w/ GB starting at the 3. At that, defense pushed them to 3rd down...

But through the first 3 QTRs, the defense was out there something like 36 out of 45 minutes. No matter how much rotation goes on, that's gonna wear down a defense; especially an already shallow 2ndary.

This thread goes 6 pages deep thus far but I see that the impartial blog of Sturm where he debunks many of the arguments here that Garrett was "forced" to call so many passes and the run game wasn't working, etc. seems to have fallen off the front page.
