He don't need no stinkin' helmet!!

Gotta love Jason Witten getting some face time on national TV after getting his helmet ripped off.
Safety Sean Considine went for the kill shot and got a real good lick on Witten. Didn't seem to bother the big fella, though, since he picked up the majority of the 53 yards on the play bare-headed.
As far as cool plays by Cowboys tight ends go, that ranks right up there with Jay Novacek hurdling the Chiefs safety.

He did take a hard lick, but that's not what caused him to lose his helmet. The second defender on the play ripped his helmet off and tossed it aside. Should have been two penalties on the play and there should be two fines levied by the NFL.

IMO, yes he is.

Yeah....I'll agree there.

And we've had some studs there.

I wish he had number 84.
Doug Cosbie
Jay Novacek
Two of my favorite Cowboys.

Couple of good 89s too.

Best TE in Cowboys history already?
I loved Novacek but Witten is by far and away the best TE we have ever had. Just the absolute complete package. Great blocker, Amazing Receiving Threat, Tough as ****ing Nails, and One of the "It" guys in the lockerroom. By the time it's all said and done, he might just find himself enshrined in that building up in Canton that looks like a blender. Not a whole lot of Tight Ends can say that but Jason sure as hell all the tools to get there.

I would agree on Witten being the best. I didn't expect it to be this one-sided though...

Blender, Juicer, Whatever; a building should like a building. Not like a kitchen appliance.

You better F'ing believe it. I could not believe that the refs picked up the flag on that play. Frikkin ridiculous, if the hit w/the crown of the helmet was not obvious the f'ing helmet being ripped off the player's head should have been.

And Witten is the BEST Cowboys TE, ever.

I am just surprised we didn't get a delay of game penalty for Witten being on the field without a helmet.

Best TE i Cowboys history and that's really saying something. Isn't he only like 25 now? 26 at best? He might be great for a long, long time.

What kind of pick was he....third round? I'd take that every day and twice on Sunday.

totally agree.

it really threw me that there was no penalty on the play. that was helmet to helmet contact, and the next defender grabbed his helmet and ripped it off. there was actually a flag on the play which was picked up. definitely a penalty, and probably a fine for both.

I was thinking that exact thing and thought there should have been more than 1 Eagle thrown out of the game. Once again they show why they have the reputation as one of the dirtiest teams in the league. Jerks. I actually got mad when we started to coast after that. I thought those hits alone deserved A "Commander" thrashing but Wade is a much classier guy than I am. :mad
