Head coaches agree: James Harrison is no DeMarcus Ware

We'll see a couple of outside linebackers Sunday who are on the short list of Defensive Player of the Year candidates.

The production of Pittsburgh's James Harrison is certainly comparable to what DeMarcus Ware has done for Dallas this season. Harrison has 80 tackles, 14 sacks and six forced fumbles for the league's top-ranked defense. According to the Cowboys' coaches stats, Ware has 76 tackles, 15 sacks and three forced fumbles.

But Mike Tomlin wanted no part of comparing the two Pro Bowlers.

"No," Tomlin said. "No. Our guys are short, squatty try-hard guys. DeMarcus is a freak of nature."

Wade Phillips, on the other hand, did see some similarities.

"He's like DeMarcus in some ways," Phillips said of Harrison, "except DeMarcus is a little bit stronger and a little bit quicker."

Tomlin is just saying that to motivate Harrison. Smart move

Harrison gets by on heart and some talent

Ware is a just a freak

not to say he doesn't have heart, but he really does need it

Harrison was cut by Steelers two times, in case people don't know and was on practice squad for two years. So yeah, athletically there is no comparison. But Harrison is good, but not Demarcus Ware good.
