Michael Irvin plans to personally tutor the winner of his reality show. That's swell and all, but if Irvin really wants to help the Cowboys, he'll invite the young receivers on the roster to those workouts.
Miles Austin and Isaiah Stanback, in particular, are two guys who could benefit from learning all of Irvin's old tricks.
Stanback will be fighting for a roster spot next summer. The college quarterback's injury problems have stunted his growth, but Stanback still has the size and athleticism to be a productive NFL receiver.
Austin had injury issues last season, too, but he flashed potential while catching 13 passes for 278 yards and three TDs. His development is especially important if the Cowboys decide to part ways with T.O., since Austin would then be the passing game's primary big-play threat. The 6-3, 216-pound speedster has just started to scratch the surface of his potential.
The guy that gets invited to training camp off Irvin's show won't have a chance to help the Cowboys. Stanback and Austin will, and they could use the Playmaker's help.
