If Jamal Lewis is out, Browns won't have much

Just landed here in Cleveland and picked up a copy of today's Plain Dealer. The headline in the paper reads, "Lewis' backups are put on notice." For a team that desperately needs Jamal Lewis out on the field, that's not good news.

Apparently, Lewis' hamstring isn't ready for prime time and his status will be a game time decision, coach Romeo Crennel said. If Lewis can't play, younger backs Jerome Harrison and Jason Wright will split the workload.

So let's go over this again. Quarterback Derek Anderson suffered a concussion in the preseason. Lewis may not play at all. Braylon Edwards suffered a cut foot in the preseason while playing around with Donte' Stallworth. Guard Rex Hadnot (knee) is a game time decision, but he'll be limited at best.

Who exactly is going to score for the Browns? I'm sure their No. 1 solider will show up ready to go.

Personally I want each team's best players on the field, so when Dallas comes away with the victory there won't be any excuses or what ifs...

Not me. I don't care who plays. A win is a win. The whiners can rationalize all they want. A mark in the win column is all i care about.

Just play against who's ever lined up against you and worry about yourself. Win your individual battles and take 'er one game at a time.

I could care less what's on the other side.

Who cares?

I want to win. Who is on the field is irrelevant.

I could care less who we play against. I doubt any other team would care if they beat us with Owens hobbled on the sidelines. They'd just pin it on Romo. Injuries are part of the game that you have to overcome.

does the person who wrote this blog actually believe that Derrick Anderosn will not be ready to play? That Braylon Edwards will not be ready to play? It has to be tough on the Cowboy coaches when they have to compete against the oppostion and the moronic statements of the media? I ain't buying it. This would be a VERY GOOD WIN for the Cowboys if we can get it

Um
that's dumb

Jamal Lewis isn't the best weapon on Cleveland and I don't think he could do much to us even if he were playing.

Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow are absolute beasts and pose a real threat. Add that to a great O-line giving DA plenty of time to throw and they're not to be underestimated.

Oh and psssstt... Jerome Harrison is much more explosive runner than Lewis so better keep him in check, too.

Cleveland will still be a stiff challenge for the D even without Lewis. They have two Pro Bowl caliber skill players that are just starting to come into their own.

Psssst....Harrison has never done much of anything, while Lewis had about 1,600 yards of offense last year.

Why is it dumb? Jamaal Lewis had over 1300 yards rushing last year for an average of 4.4 yards per attempt......he may not be Cleveland's best weapon but he's a serious weapon nonetheless.

"Dumb" was my response to the opening statement of, "if Lewis out, Browns won't have much."

because that's a dumb statement.

pssst... Harrison hasn't gotten the chance to do much.
That doesn't mean he can't when given the opportunity.
