Interesting side note at practice

So every day before practice begins the quarterbacks and centers work on their exchanges. The quarterbacks go through different drops with different play calls, but it's a way for them to become more acquainted with the center.

Every day during training camp Cory Procter was among the centers in that drill. But he wasn't Tuesday. The four centers were Andre Gurode, Ryan Gibbons, Travis Bright and Duke Preston.

I'm not sure what it means but Procter and Jon Kitna had the most exchange problems in the preseason and a botched snap cost the Cowboys Saturday's game against San Francisco.

It means the end of Free Reign.

Actually, I doubt he gets picked up by another team and just hangs out in Dallas so he can stay in the band.

Best case scenario - he's being held out of practice because there's a trade in the works.

Any GM who trades anything for Proctor instantly replaces Jerry as the worst GM in football.

Wait for it, wait for it...................

Could the Cowboys coaches be trying to say something.

Wait for it.

Are they SENDING A MESSAGE?

I really wonder if Procter has any trade value. Doubt it. He is mobile and apparently smart enough to do line calls, but doesn't fit the big mauler style of Cowboys oline and if he can't snap consistently (is that Kitna's fault too) then he won't catch on as anything more than an emergency guy anywhere.

That's possible, at least for a conditional pick.

The surprise to me here is Bright working at center.

Proctor has blocked well enough this preseason at the center position to possibly draw some interest. (And coaches have said that Kitna is at fault on several of the snap exchanges.)

Dallas knows he can't be counted on at more than just that position, though, so he's not ideal as a swing linemen and he's too expensive to keep around just as a center backup.

Preston likely gets the nod because he can swing between guard and tackle, while Bright and Gibbons haven't shown they can handle the center spot yet.

I'm not suprised. They really like Bright at guard, so they want him to get some snaps at center, hoping that he(bright), can play both positions someday in the near future. JMO

Cory Proctor might as well be Casper the Ghost, because big DTs just go right through him.

HE CAN"T ANCHOR.

Why is he still here?

Shuffle the cards.
