Isaiah Stanback looks OK

WR Isaiah Stanback is practicing today, 10 days after he dislocated his left shoulder on a kickoff return against Houston.

Stanback, who hopes to postpone surgery on the shoulder until after the season, looked fine while running routes and catching passes in warmups. He was able to get his hands above his head to catch a pass on a crossing route without any problems.

Of course, contact will be the real test for Stanback's shoulder, which is protected by a harness. But there is at least a possibility that he'll play in the season opener, which would give the Cowboys a third receiver.

There ya go Stanglass.

If you are going to be getting hurt all the time at least play through a little of it.

I think we should bring Jefferson/Amendola up for the first game and let Stanback be active in Week 2.

He might not be healthy, but I think people should've known that he was going to play against Cleveland.

Even though I want Glenn back, Stanback is a guy I want to see on the field as our #3 WR. Assuming Glenn doesn't come back I want to see what Stanback can do with the starting offense not the backups.

afaik you have to cut somebody if you bring someone from the ps to the active roster. so imo not going to happen.

Well, I guess Stanback can run a reverse or two as well as run some deep routes to open up stuff underneath.

Some guys have rotten luck. It's been done to death, but look no further than Jimmy Smith. He was injured with a gross groin injury, then had his appendix removed, then developed an infection from that.....we couldn't afford to wait on him and released him. But he turned out ok.

Stanback doesnt have a history of being injured. The last two years haven't been kind to him....he may be experiencing bad luck...I don't think it's a lack of toughness.

I'm sure he'll do find reaching to catch the ball. I wonder how good he'll be at getting off the LOS. What happens when a DB jams him at the line? What is his strength like?....

Anyway, it looks as if we'll finally get a look at him.

And cut who from 53 to do so?
We also have Keith Davis to slot in - that makes 2 cuts to 53.

Stanback is ready to play and Wade said he'd get Witten some Reps at 3. I don't see any panic roster cuts here.

If he looks OK now, another week of rehab and he should look even better. This report is a good start.

Stanback didn't look ready to contribute in pre-season, if he plays his main contribution will be as a decoy.

He won't get better this season. This injury will linger cuz he will continue to take hits (either by opposing players or by falling on the ground) and that will prevent it from fully healing this year. He's going to have to tough it out all year and hope he doesn't take that one "Big hit" or else his season will be over.
