It's gotta be the shoes

Tony Romo busted out his Pro Bowl cleats -- Reeboks with a Hawaiiesque floral pattern and the Pro Bowl logo.

I asked Romo whether the shoes were the reason he broke out of his mini-slump, referring to yesterday's practice.

"It wasn't that bad a slump," Romo said. "Did you see the three touchdowns I threw?"

I informed Romo, who drew praise from Wade Phillips for his performance this morning, that all credit for touchdown passes to T.O. goes to the receiver.

Gotta go to lunch and then practice. Meet me back here at about 4:30.

Y'know, I appreciate humor from the mediots, but in these blogs, it seems that trying to be funny is ALL MacMahon does... I'd appreciate just a bit more information from him, a little less schtick...

You and me both. I crave the "so and so made a great pick off of Tony Romo in a turnover that would have resulted in a touchdown had it been a real game."

"Watkins looked good in full team drills today. He looks thicker and stronger this year and could mount a serious challenge to Hamlin's starting FS spot."

Those type of things are what I live for when reporters get to watch practice or training camp... but unfortunately, they almost never give that kind of perspective.

The "Sports Entertainment" mentality is what passes for journalism these days. Pitiful, truly pitiful. :bang2:

Journalism? Try "media driven capitalism" instead. Media journalism practically died when Walter Cronkite stepped down from CBS. A lot of these guys and gals are simply marketing themselves for the next level. If they should, say, get an ESPN dream job, they will have felt that all their 'hard work' paid off. More fluff/less substance is the media's credo now and has been for years. It's what paying advertisers want, right?
