If a team wants to make a run at Miles Austin in restricted free agency, they now know they would have to part with their first- and third-round picks for the Pro Bowl wide receiver.

Owner and general manager Jerry Jones has said signing Austin to a long-term deal is a top priority this off-season When the Cowboys make things a priority, they usually get a deal done with DeMarcus Ware being an example last year.

Austin caught 81 passes for 1,320 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2009.

As a restricted free agent last year, the Cowboys gave him the second-round tender worth $1.545 million. The New York Jets had him up for a visit but did not make him an offer.

Where it says we placed a tender on him? Surely we tendered him by now, right?

EDIT: Figures as soon as I post this, a thread pops up where we just did that. LOL

we traded him for Dexter Coakley..his trade value is through the roof now without a cap

although its no surprise....

I forgot about the Jets last year! :laugh2:
Me too...talk about blowing it! I guess the same can be said for everyone else in the league in hindsite. A second round tender for a Pro Bowl receiver with no baggage....wow.

What's really funny is that technically, that post was before yours.

Well, barely. It went up as I posted it.
