The drama between Jon Kitna and Bradie James had a happy ending.
James refused to shake Kitna's hand after the coin flip -- Terence Newman gave the loudmouth Lions QB a manly hug -- but they had a nice chit-chat after the game. James said Kitna apologized for singling him out on that Seattle radio show in January. James accepted and they parted on good terms.
"We respect one another," James said. "That's what this game is about. You can't fear any opponent, but you respect everyone."
James said all the drama with Kitna wasn't a distraction this week, but his performance was definitely well below the norm this season. The Lions "shocked" James with their smash-mouth game plan and racked up most of their 152 rushing yards between the tackles.
"We ended up making enough plays to win the game," James said. "It was ugly, but it was sweet."
The postgame conversation between James and Kitna was sweet, too, in a different sort of way.
