Jason Witten did not get to see everything Pacman Jones did in his first workout with the Cowboys on Tuesday, but he saw the interception.
"First time I think he was in there, you see 21 go the other way," Witten said. "I told him, 'That's the third group. Don't get your hopes up. When you're with the first team, you won't get that one taken to the house.'"
Witten got to know Pacman a little bit at the charity bowling event he held recently. Jones sent him a text asking if he could come, which Witten gladly accepted.
"The one thing I did see [on the practice field] was that he was excited to be out on the field," Witten said. "It looked like it was a long time coming for him. Obviously he's a great player, but I think he's just excited to be out there. He was all smiles. I think he embraces the opportunity to play."

After finishing working out at Valley Ranch Tuesday, All-Pro tight end Jason Witten made his way to Texas Stadium to play some more football, soccer, jump some rope and even attempt to work the hula hoop as part of his involvement in the NFL's Play 60 program.
"It's been a while since I've done the hula hoop now," Witten said.
Witten was on hand for an announcement involving the Ad Council's campaign to fight child obesity. Last year Witten filmed a commercial with San Diego's Antonio Gates and New Orleans' Reggie Bush to encourage kids to to play for an hour a day. In addition to the Ad Council and the NFL, the Department of Health and Human Services has joined to sponsor the effort.
"This is a huge problem that we have in our country, not just here in North Texas," Witten said, "and I think trying to bring awareness up is something I wanted to do."
