LOL at this post on a message board.

Its not about judging what they do on the football field; discuss away its a message board.

But judging someone about who they are, what they think, whats their motive off the football field was what I was referring to.

Having an inside guy like Henry on his side should really help Jenkins' progess. That's great news.

Or maybe if Scandrick had been able to participate, he'd have looked even better. ;)

I still have doubts about Jenkins. It's not about his athletic ability, it's about his attitude. I mean, it's his first minicamp with the vets and Henry has to "keep his head straight" and "get on him when he's tired"? Shouldn't he be supremely motivated in his very first action with real NFL players?

I'm not predicting total doom for Jenkins based on this one thing, but when his attitude is already known to be questionable coming out, I don't like reading this kind of thing.

You need to chastise the scouting reports that said he didn't like to practice and wasn't always motivated, then.

It's not like I claimed he was a Pacman-style thug or said anything else about his worth as a human being. I just hope he has the proper motivation, mental toughness, and consistency it takes to cover some of the best athletes in the world play after play.

He was benched his junior year for underachieving and not playing up to his potential. That took place on a football field.

If our secondary plays up to the level of what we feel it should now be capable of playing, we should be in good shape. While it's not the only area of concern on our team, but I still can't help but hope that we can find a vet WR to bring in before the start of the regular season. From what I've seen so far of our current young WRs, I am still going to keep my fingers crossed that one of them will step up this year,.. but who knows.[/quote]

Maybe the coaches do.

Jenkins has Henry and Deon to give him advice.

Jenkins started 12 games at right corner in 2006, finishing with 27 tackles, 15 pass breakups and one interception.

Jenkins started 13 games in 07 he had 41 tackles, 12 pass breakups, three interceptions and four tackles for loss as a senior. He also ran back seven kicks for a 30.4-yard average.

I think we all do, it just seems like you're saying he doesn't before he's had a chance to do much of anything.

Much adu...

People are using a solitary article to defend Jenkins against people that are wary of him based off of a seperate solitary article. Whoever is better between him and Scandrick simply wins the right to be our fourth corner..

I don't think the Cowboys drafted Jenkins in the 1st rd to be a 4th CB. He may start the season coming off the bench but I think the mindset is he will become our #2 CB on this team.

.. Then I will worry about how he does next training camp. Jenkins? Scandrick? Makes no difference to me who is doing better then whom at this point. They both seem to be right around where they should.

That's great that he rebounded .. at least just makes him inconsistent. But to say any speculation about his tendency to underachieve is pure messageboard speculation is patently false. He was benched late in his college career for underachieving.

And the last time we drafted someone this high that was benched that late in his college career his name was Tony Dixon.

I find it funny that people were doubting him and saying Scandrick is already better based on rookie mini-camps, seems like he's exactly where he's supposed to be.

Dude, you have it all wrong. It's not that Jenkins is better now that the vets are here... it's simply that the vet WR's just aren't as good as Amendola, so Jenkins isn't getting embarassed every other play. He can stop TO and Crayton.

No one can stop da Amendola!

sometimes it's hard to get motivated when you outclass just about everyone athletically(SP)

which is pretty much what the coaches described as his "attitude" problem

you're making a mountain out of a molehill my friend

Hey, good point, where the hell are the Amendola articles? Isn't he there?

He should be tearing Newman and Henry new ones.

I think his point was that he started 12 games as a junior. If he was benched it was for one game.
