T.O. plans to let his play do his talking for him during his contract year. He's made it clear that he plans to be a Cowboy for at least a few more years and figures the deal will get done sooner or later.

T.O. guarantees that his contract status won't be a distraction. It shouldn't be. Jerry Jones has proven time and time again that he'll take care of his Pro Bowl players.

RB Marion Barber and CB Terence Newman, proud owners of matching $12 million signing bonuses, are the latest guys to benefit from Jerry's generosity to guys who have performed in a Cowboys uniform.

Tony Romo, who went from pretty rich to stinkin' rich in the middle of last season, cited Jerry's track record as one of the reasons he's so optimistic about the Cowboys' future.

"The reality of it is the guy wants to win," Romo said. "As a quarterback, you need ownership and people in the front office and organization to help you win. If you don't get that help, you're always going to be fighting an uphill battle.

"You feel that, being a part of this organization with Jerry, that he's going to bring in people and sign people and want to improve this football team every year. It allows you to feel like, hey, we have a chance and I have a chance to do some special things around here.

"I'm just excited about the fact that he consistently wants to win as much as I do."

If I were Romo, I'd rather be playing in Dallas with an owner like Jerry Jones then most anywhere else. I hate the Eagles but admit I could never understand the failure of Reid to provide McNabb, his franchise QB, with some good WRs. Shoot, even the Cards have provided that for their QBs.
