What do you predict the Cowboys record will be for December? Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:26 Steve
11:27
Y'all know I like to say it ain;t my job to have hope or faith or optimism that a team will do what it hasn't done. Understand? That's why it looks like a 2-3 December to me. But if the Cowboys can beat the Giants and end all of the talk about lackluster Decembers then I could see them going 4-1. Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:27

Why can't this team impose it's will on ANYBODY? Why does the whole plan seem to be to always adjust to whatever someone else wants to give instead of establishing what THEY want to do well? Is there just too much equality in the NFL for teams to dictate and dominate because they do one or two things so well that noone can stop them (ie 60's Packers, 70's 49ers,80's Bears, 90's Cowboys, etc.)? JJT - I understand the Patriots seemed mechanically unbeatable only 2 seasons ago, and that was proven wrong...but it's awfully hard to watch the Saints and think the Boys have much chance. I think the Vikes even get drove by the saints - thoughts? Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:28 dave

The problem for the Saints will be maintaining this level of play. You can peak to early, which is what the 2007 Cowboys did. New Orleans' division is wrapped up and I don't know how driven they are by the undefeated season since new England did it two years ago. Frankly, the best thing for New Orleans might be they're only a game ahead of the Vikings, so they need to keep winning. It will be interesting to see if they have a letdown against Washington this week or Atlanta next week because they were phenomenal last night. Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:30

What do you think has happened to the once mighty Giants over the last six games? They are a shell of their former shelves. Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:30 Tex
11:31
They have had an abundance of injuries. They don't run theball nearly as well as they did the last two years. Rightnow, Brandon Jacobs is just a guy. Their front seven is not dominating, which means they have to blitz instead of rushing with four and covering with seven. Their offensive line - once the best in football - has been average. Do you think that Jason Witten's last game was an abberation, or will Dallas start getting him the ball down the field? Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:31 Tex
11:33
The Raiders gave him a lot of single coverage. Most teams are smart enough not to do that. When he's doubled, there's not a lot of room for him to get downfield and make plays.

JJT, last night's game only explained to me why Belichick went on 4th and 2 on his 28 in Indy. NE D is a train wreck. NO can be had with any semblence of a defensive effort, NY has been done, since before their bye and Dallas will hold serve on their home court. I only see a letdown loss with the Skins the rest of the way. Whats your thought's on my scenario? Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:33 djt
11:36
New Orleans is the closest thing we've seen to the Greatest Show on Turf becasue they have 7 or 8 weapons on offense, a dynamic quarterback and a creative offensive mind calling plays. If you think some semblance of a defensive effort would slow them down, you're wrong. They're playing with such a high level of execution, skill and confidence that I don't think anyone can slow them down for 60 minutes. They might lose 34-31 or something, but I don't see their offense getting shut down because they can run it and throw it. Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:36

Hey JJT, I wasn't asking whether the new holder is to blame on FG misses, but instead whether you think Nick Folk actually trusts his new holder this season, Mat McBriar. He had one of the best holders in the game (Brad Johnson) his first 2 seasons but now is relying on a punter with no real experience who once lost the job in week 1 of 2004. Changing holders shouldn't affect a pro kicker, but sometimes it does. Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:36 Marty

McBriar, by all accounts,is a good holder. Bottom line: make the kick. Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:37

I wouldn't thnk so....but did we expect to see the Cardinals in the Super Bowl last year? Nope. You have to play the game. That's the beauty of sports. Watching the Cowboys the last few weeks, I don't see how they can win a playoff game (if they get in)--too many penalties and inconsistent offensively. They're 8-3 with the third best record in the NFC. What do you mean you can;t see them winning a playoff game? I can. I don;t know if they will, but they certainly have the talent to do it. Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:40

He'll be restricted at the end of this season since there won't be a CBA in place, so the Cowboys will retain him at a bargain price, relaitvely speaking. All they have to do is put a first-round tender on him, and they should be good. Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:46

You, my friend, are trying to make me thing you're clueless. I know that's not the case, so quit trying. Crayton is a good player. He is not a great player. He's an excellent No.3 WR because he can beat most third or fourth corners he faces as well as most safeties. He has excellent hands and if you sleep on him, he'll bust you.

It gets on my nerves too. I understand some of what he's saying, but at some point, you have to take what you want. The other day, Romo said it's stupid to run against 8-man fronts. Well, sometimes, your RB has to make the 8th guy miss. If he's not good enough, then you need to find a runner who is. Tuesday December 1, 2009 11:53

To do 1 or 2 things well doesn't require a great team in every aspect. The Colts, for an example, are who they are because of Manning. What do they need to be "great" enough to just develop their own personality JJ?

I didn;t say he was better than Colombo, who is proven. Why didn;t Miles play before Roy Williams got hurt. Why didn;t Tashard play before Marion was hurt last year.
