Safety Ken Hamlin was fined $12,500 by the NFL for hitting a defenseless receiver in the Wild Card round win against Philadelphia on Saturday.

Hamlin hit Eagles tight end Brent Celek in the helmet after an incomplete pass from Donovan McNabb in the first half.

The Cowboys earned $21,000 for playing in the wild card round so Hamlin's check was worth $8,500.

A little more than half his playoff game check. Actually after taxes he probably made a grand or so for last week.

Personally, I think that's bull****. I still don't see anything wrong with what Hamlin did.


Certainly not enough to warrant the much bigger a fine than the SOB that flagrantly hit Romo recently.

Personally, I think that's bull****. I still don't see anything wrong with what Hamlin did.


Certainly not enough to warrant the much bigger a fine than the SOB that flagrantly hit Romo recently.

Or Fletcher's hit on Crayton. I thought it was far more dangerous. I think though that Hamlin getting the immediate penalty on the sidelines after the confrontation on the field with Maclin is a reason behind the fine being big.

So wait Ryan Clark, Hines Ward, and Ike Taylor can go head hunting and get fined maybe a grand or so. But Hamlin gets close to 13 grand in fines?!?!?! Thats insane.

The 12k is because he's been fined at least once before. If it was his first time it would only be $7500.
