Earlier in the week, DeMarcus Ware was named as one of the members of the 2000s All-Decade team with the rest of the team being announced on Sunday in which Larry Allen was added to the team.

Others with Cowboys ties: wide receiver Terrell Owens, defensive tackle La'Roi Glover and linebacker Zach Thomas.

Allen was one of only three players that was named to the All-Decade team of the 1990s to be included in the team of the 2000s with New Orleans tackle Willie Roaf and Tampa Bay defensive tackle Warren Sapp

Larry is one of my all time favorite players to watch. He was the most dominant OG I have ever seen and that includes Hannah. Perhaps the most dominant player in Cowboys History.

Allen was just simply put a BEAST. It would be nice to get another OG like that.

Sadly that injury in 2002 took away the quickness he once had. I think to try and compensate he went over board on the weight training and probably made it worse.

Before that players would actually put themselves on the injury list before the game so that when LA owned them they could say they were injured. He was absolutely a monster.

Larry Allen, was arguably most dominant OG ever. Probably at worst top 3 ever to play NFL. You are only get those once in a lifetime at best. Hope for maybe a Newton.

I'll take Larry Allen over any offensive guard you've got. Man was great.

He might have been the most physically dominant player, regardless of position in NFL History.

His power, footwork, feet (mobility) and nastiness just couldnt be matched.

Alot of guys can go from tackle to guard, this guy went from guard to LT and was still an all pro. Then went back to guard and dominated more.

I think he's the best OL of all time.

You'll get no argument from me on that.

I was pretty young in the early to mid 90's, so I don't have a great recollection of the time, but do you think he was better than a prime Erik Williams?

*edit* I know they played different positions, but was wanting to know how he compared to Williams as a tackle.

I find this selection a little odd. Don't get me wrong LA was one of the all time greats, but I never saw him as a really dominating offensive lineman during the 2000s.

After his injuries in about '02, it never really seemed like he was ever the same again. Who knows though, I can't say that I spent a lot of time watching non-Cowboys games, I guess he could have been significantly worse than his mid to late '90s prime and still been one of the best. Just seems like this is kind of a "name" pick.

Alright, thanks. I remember Erik Williams shutting Reggie White down, but I also know DT's were literally scared to go up against Larry Allen. Either way, we were lucky to have both. I know my dad always says Larry Allen is the best lineman he's ever seen.

I used to love going back and re-watching games when Larry Allen was in his prime because there would always be a few plays that were just unbelievable. I remember watching Pro Bowl defensive tackles crumple to the ground just from his initial punch. You wouldn't always notice those things during the game.

His domination of Greg Lloyd was unreal.

I know he played LT, LG and RT (subbing for Big E after the car accident). Did he ever play RG?

Yes, he was next to Big E for a couple of years.

Oddly enough, my memory is solid for the 60s, 70s and 80s, but gets worse as we approach present day.
