There were a bunch of Cowboys fans on the flight this morning from D/FW to Cleveland. The two guys sitting in front of me were going to the same place I was today -- the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
On Sunday, we'll have plenty of action from here....

But today, I dug deep into the Davis coffers for $22 and went here...

Some quick notes and thoughts from the RRHOF:
* All of the old outfits, records, concert posters and memorabilia is cool. But the real draw is the listening stations, videos and concert footage. I don't want to see stuff in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I want to hear stuff. And you can do plenty of that in a theater featuring every act that's been enshrined in Cleveland.
* According to a memo sent to Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis still owes about $72 on a car that he didn't apparently pay for in full. Speaking of cars, you can see one of Elvis' cars inside the museum. Along with that you'll find ZZ Top's Eliminator and Janis Joplin's Porsche.
* Why is Eric Clapton's exhibit smaller than some others whom I've never heard of? The Rolling Stones and Beatles got whole gigantic corners and/or walls, and deservedly so. But Slowhand gets one outfit, some sheet music and a few records smashed together in a glass case? He deserves more than that.
* John Lennon looks flat out weird in his 1960 passport photo.
* While most of our music icons looked small, maybe 6-feet tall or less, Jimi Hendrix looks like a big dude -- if his outfits are any indication. You can hear plenty of Hendrix in his exhibit. See if anyone out there has "All Along the Watchtower" that was recorded live in England in August 1970. That was cool.
* Anyone who loved the now-defunct Q102 -- "Texas' best rock" -- will be glad to know that Redbeard is part of the radio exhibit showcasing some of the best rock and roll DJs from all over the nation.
* I swear I heard a half dozen people sing in unison during a 12-minute video montage about MTV and music videos in general. I mean, who can resist it? When you see those models wearing black outfits and blank stares, everybody shouts, "You're going to have to face it, you're addicted to love."
* Overall, I give the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a solid A. Very well worth it.
