Tim MacMahon: 11-on-11. ... Running game obviously isn't full speed. Barber up middle. ... Barber counter right.
6:57
Tim MacMahon: Kitna to Jason Witten on an out route between Bobby Carpenter and Mike Hamlin. ... Counter to Jones. ... OK, enough play-by-play. I'll update if/when something interesting happens on the field.

toddarcher: Felix Jones is hobbled again by his toe. He was getting examined and seemed to be bugged by it again. Stay tuned 7:04
Tim MacMahon: Jimmy was here to shoot a public service announcement today. If he isn't getting paid, it's tough to get him to leave his place in the Florida Keys.
7:05
Tim MacMahon: Felix's toe apparently isn't a serious concern. He's back in there now. Might just have been an issue with his shoe.
7:08
Tim MacMahon: DeMarcus Ware just made an awfully impressive play for a 20-sack guy. He dropped back into coverage and soared off the turf to deflect a Jon Kitna pass about 15 yards downfield.

Was holding my breath.....Please Felix stay healthy.... 7:09
Tim MacMahon: He's off the side with his helmet off on one knee now. No attention from the athletic training staff, so the toe doesn't appear to be a problem.
7:15
Tim MacMahon: Speaking of picks by starting cornerbacks, Terence Newman just had a ball go through his hands on a deep out from Jon Kitna to Isaiah Stanback, who made the catch. 7:16
Tim MacMahon: Cory Procter is still working with the second team at center. Haven't seen Duke Preston get any reps, but it's not like the new guy has had any time to study the playbook yet.

With all the discussions around T.O. disruptions last year and how that affected the team, why does it seem the media thinks Dallas is so much worse off without him? I know the stats but I also remember all the columns of the divided locker room. Did the talent on this team really leave with T.O. Canty, Thomas and Roy Williams? I just don't get it... 7:19
Tim MacMahon: Hard for me to speak for the media as a whole. I see this as a 9-7 team, which is what they were for two of T.O.'s three seasons here.

I think the Cowboys will miss T.O.'s big-play ability. But I was one of those who thought he had to go. Once relationships go bad for him, they don't get better, and that's what happened with Garrett and Romo. Things would have only gotten worse if T.O. returned to Valley Ranch, but cutting him doesn't make the on-field product better.

On a related note, while I was typing this answer, Romo hit Witten on a deep seam route and Williams on a deep crossing route. Now, if they could only face the third-team defense during games ...
7:22
Tim MacMahon: Felix caught a swing pass and looked just fine planting and cutting upfield.
7:25
Tim MacMahon: Seventh-round WR Manny Johnson just caught a bomb from Jon Kitna. Great one-handed catch with Orlando Scandrick all over him. Kitna put the ball on the money about 45 yards downfield.

Before Sooners get too fired up, Johnson is probably practice squad fodder.

Do the DB's work with the jugs machine? Romo to Williams is unstoppable... if Mickens is covering.

7:28
Tim MacMahon: Whew! For a second there, I thought you were referring to one of the cheerleaders who is bouncing around on the 60-yard big screen in HD.

Yes, the corners work with the jugs machine that fires footballs.
:lmao: lol ok Timmy that was good.
